Tears for Fears

Rhen survived his first day of daycare pretty much intact. There were some tears on both sides of the fence but we fought them back being stoic Minnesotans. He got along pretty well with one of the providers whom I’ll simply call ‘J’.

At the end of each day we will receive a slip of paper indicating his level of interest in eating, times of diaper changes and other daycare fundamentals. We were surprised to see an extra note on the bottom stating that Rhen organized a small uprising that marched around the room with fists pumping in the air while singing , “SHOUT! SHOUT! Let it all out! These are the things I can do without!”

  1. So glad to hear you both survived the first day.
And lol at Rhen. What an awesome kid. πŸ™‚

  2. Wondering how was your first day at new job. I’d imagine it’s a little more complex to organize an uprising when you’re getting paid to be there.

  3. Wow! He has the balls to form a mob on the first day, AND sing lines from a song that was popular 20 years before he was born?

Rhen is going to totally kick at at daycare, Ted.

  4. I think he’s doing pretty well. When I get to the parking lot at work I call C_ and ask her how the drop off went. It’s nice to know that before I start the day. I think he’s gonna learn a lot of stuff which is good because our lovely friend, the television was starting to become a bit dull.
