Well, only a third of the referendum passed. I guess Winonans really want some of those schools closed. It’s sad. Voting was really close, but it looks like only half of Winona’s pop. came out to participate.

Man, it is Wind Storm 2005 here! The front boulevard looks great. I raked it over the weekend but the maple next door was still dropping leaves. This wind must of blew everything east. Nature is awesome! Good work nature.

Huh. Oprah just showed up on Good Morning America. (I think it is terribly wonderful that I can watch these shows in the morning. This is the equivalent of vacation) with a coffee and bottle of water. Why is Diane Sawyer all energetic and jumping up and down? I like the more subdued laid back Diane Sawyer.

Morning plans. Drink coffee. Bathe Rhen. Go walking. Maybe take nap.

Weekend round up

Well, Flickritis has permanently set in. It isn’t so much, “Takeapicturetakeapicturetakeapicture. It is more like, do I have my camera with me? Good.” I think most people understand. Deep down.

A lovely weekend. Gabe, Rachel and Dexter came for a visit. It was very nice. A quick recap:

-Went to restaurants (Bubs, Island Cafe)
-Presents for Rhen! (cool giraffe toy and BALLS)
-Dexter and Rhen (goodfellas)
-Trip to Stockholm and Nelson, WI (must hone my driving skills) Bought cheese
-Beverages
-Gabe fixed dishwasher (I quote Gabe, “It’s mostly just common sense.” I check my pockets, can’t find common sense. Cancel Sears sevice visit Monday)
-Rachel does like scary movies
-Gabe and I laughing like loons taking off weird screen behind vent grill (why???)
-Garvin Heights lookout
-Duck watching (talked with old guy who feeds ducks and called them, “Poopies”)
-Saying goodbye (sniff)

Rhen’s mind has blossomed with the visit. He’s opened up to the world, more so. I mean can he get anymore freakin’ cute? Rhen and Dexter jammed it up right away. Dex showed Rhen some tricks.

I also would like to think that Gabe blew things up for Rhen a bit too. It’s called a Blackberry. My mind blown, too.

Rachel was a bit nauseous. I don’t know. Guess, she doesn’t travel all that well, but still quite the trooper. I mean look at these girls! Swing-wing-a-ding-swing! Woot! I even helped out on the pushing but I experimented (thankfully) with my technique on Christi first. Perfected it before I moved on to Rachel.

So sad to see them go. It was too soon. But we are definitely looking forward to next year and a trip to KC. Good times. Good people. Seriously Rachel and Gabe, real estate is cheap in Stockholm and the cheese, well it’s good.
